The Complete Grow Tent Buying Guide for Beginners
Choosing your first grow tent can feel overwhelming — sizes, fabric ratings, poles, ports, windows, zippers... where do you even start? How Far Should Grow Lights Be From Plants?
For most full-spectrum LED grow lights, hang the lamp 12–24 inches above the plant canopy and adjust by growth stage — 12–24 inches for seedlings (or 4–12 inches for T5/linear fixtures), 18–24 inches during vegetative growth, and 12–18 inches in flower. HPS/MH bulbs need more clearance (16–31 inches), CMH/LEC 18–24 inches, and fluorescent T5/CFL just 6–12 inches. Use your light's dimmer and a PAR meter to fine-tune.
